Italian designer Gianni Calignano is returning to Montenegro, at Blanc Fashion Week Montenegro, where he will present his new collection on October 29.
In the past season, he enchanted fashion lovers in Podgorica with his creations and he tells MNE magazin that this time too he is very excited to see how the Montenegrin audience will react to the new collection.
The name is ,,Black and White” and it is a dedication to timeless elegance and the contrast of light and shadow.
How do you feel about visiting Montenegro again and presenting your collection here?
– It is always a unique emotion to return to Montenegro to present my collection. The natural beauty of this country, the local culture and the warmth of its people inspire creativity. Every time it is a unique and unforgettable experience and I am very excited to see how the public will receive my creations.
Could you, please, tell us what collection you will be presenting this time – its name, inspiration behind it, materials you used?
– The ,,Black and White” collection is a tribute to timeless elegance and the contrast of light and shadow. The evening dresses, made of fine fabrics such as satin, chiffon and lace, combine the purity of white with the depth of black, creating sophisticated and fascinating silhouettes.
The dresses feature unique details such as strategic draping, bold necklines and lace appliqués, adding a touch of femininity. They are characterized by clean lines and impeccable silhouettes, which enhance the female figure in a refined way.
The sketches I have seen are beautiful. While creating the collection you will be presenting at Montenegro Fashion Week, what type of woman who would be wearing it was going through your mind?
– While creating this collection, I had in mind a woman who knows how to express her personality through fashion, modern and confident, who does not give up grace and is not afraid to show her femininity. A woman who appreciates timeless elegance, with a style balanced between boldness and discretion. Each dress is designed to make her feel unique, ready to shine on any occasion, be it a gala evening, an elegant dinner or a special event.
The campaign of this Montenegro Fashion Week’ s edition is With fashion against breast cancer. Please, could you share your message to the women who are suffering from breast cancer?
– It is an honor to be part of such a significant campaign. My message to women facing the fight against breast cancer is to never lose hope and to remember that they are strong and that their inner beauty is extraordinary. I would like every woman present to never feel alone, but part of a strong and united community, which supports her in such a delicate moment in her life.
Abbiamo bisogno di pace, di musica, di poesia, di bellezza, di gentilezza, di persone vere (We need peace, music, poetry, beauty, kindness, true people) is a beautiful message in golden letters on a white shirt and we know white signifies pureness. Each of us is a torcher of light and love, sadly, we have vice versa, but do you see a world you described in this wonderful sentence above, in a near future?
– I truly believe in this powerful and touching phrase. I believe that with beauty, kindness and authenticity we can brighten our lives and transform the world into a more harmonious and bright place and by spreading love and positivity in our communities, we can little by little inspire others to join this vision.
