MNE MAGAZIN PRESENTS: Milena Lainović's new song Above All The Ground (video)

Today, MNE magazin exclusively presents a new song and music video by Milena Lainović.
The track, full of emotion and beauty, is called ,,Above All The Ground” With the sound of the piano, voice and lyrics she takes the listener above the ground, into another universe.
In an interview for MNE magazin, Lainović talks about the inspiration behind the song and the music video, filmed in Montenegro, as well as her feeling of the world above the ground.
The video for ,,I Won't Give Up” was also documented in her homeland, Montenegro.

How did the song ,,Above All The Ground” come to life and what is the message you want to send across with it?
– I imagined it as an instrumental, last song on my new album. I played the piano, but the voices kept on coming one after the other and without any plans to do so, the song you hear as such appeared. Those who follow my work know that I always write positive songs, in which the light motif is love, the Sun, happiness…

How do you perceive the world above the ground? When you look up there, what do you see?
– In the lyrics I say that when you are in love and you shine for someone day, night…you project love, so, even not being physically close, by looking at the stars you meet halfway through, feel the positive energy and calm on a cosmic level.
What inspired your wish to film the video for this song, too, in Montenegro?
– I wanted to be in this video, unburdened, solely in the role of an actor, so I handled it all down to Igor Bakić (camera, editing…) compared to the previous footage where I did the takes all by myself.

Who is the team behind the song and the video?
– I was in charge of the lyrics, music and the piano part. Monsef Seph Chebri recorded it in the ,,Sonic Brew Productions” studio, where mixing and mastering was done as well.
Igor Bakić made the video, he was behind the main camera and editing, Dražen Milić was a lighting designer, the second camera Jelena Bakić, the make-up Tamara Nikolić and it was filmed in KIC ,,Budo Tomović”, Podgorica.
What are your plans after this – should we expect more new music, concerts from you and when will the performance in Montenegro finally happen?
– I am always making music and the recording and mixing of a new upbeat-funky conceptual album is in the final stages. It carries its own story, among all the acoustic version of ,,Above All The Ground”
I am engaged plenty in London, Liverpool, Bristol, Brighton… I have not started making preparations for the concert in Montenegro yet, because it requires a different type of organization than for my elaborate solos and performances with the musicians that I have been collaborating with for years.

ABOVE ALL THE GROUND

Look up to the sky and follow the stars This telepathy is taking us high
When we are above all the ground.

At dawn at noon, I beam for you
At sunset, midnight too, I moonbeam for you.

There is no need to scan the skies
The closer to you, I shine
My light will be your guide
When we are above all the ground.

At dawn at noon, I beam for you
At sunset, midnight too, I moonbeam for you

I burn to know your being, your past and your plans
I burn to know your being, your past and your plans.
