Natalia Urbanova will be presenting her latest collection on April 8 at Montenegro Fashion Week.Once again she has earned the trust of the organizer Srđan Lubarda to show her designs at this event. She calls it not solely an honour but a recognition of the path she is going through as a designer. The name of the collection is ,,Depth of my soul” and it tells a story about a woman's inner value.Working on it has changed her, made her softer and deeper.
You will show the collection again at Montenegro Fashion Week. How important is the trust of the organizer Srđan Lubarda to you, who again invited you to present the collection at MFW?
– For me, it is not just an honor – it is a recognition of the path I'm going through as a designer. Srđan Lubarda is a person who subtly feels not only aesthetics, but the inner energy of fashion as well. His invitation is like trust in my inner sincerity, not just in fabric and silhouette. I am very grateful to him for this space of self-expression and faith in my work.
What can you tell us about the collection you will show at MFW? What inspired you this time, what materials and colors did you use?
– The collection is called ,,Depth of my soul”. This is a story about a woman's inner value, her elegance and strength, which do not always scream, but always make a sound. I was inspired by moments of silence, in which the most sincere feelings are born.
In this collection I used velvet, satin, lace, hand embroidery and appliqués. The fabrics are tactile, alive – they do not just cover the body, but tell about it. The color palette is diverse, as is the female essence itself – from deep and dark tones to light accents to convey the spectrum of the inner world.
What type of woman is this collection intended for?
– This collection is for women who do not need to be loud to be heard. For those who choose grace instead of demonstration, depth instead of external hype. It's for women who know their worth, even if they don't always talk about it. For women who like to be beautiful – not for others, but first of all for themselves.
This collection is dedicated to women who value authenticity, top quality and timeless pieces – clothes that does not only follow the trends this season, but surpass them.
My collection is created for women who know their value and are self-sufficient, feminine, with a deep sense of self-worth. It is important for me to emphasize the individuality of each of them, to allow them to reveal their unique essence through each product of the collection. This is not just clothing, but a reflection of the strength, grace and confidence that are inherent in a modern woman.
Every detail is a manifesto of personal freedom, a call for every woman to feel like an integral part of this world, worthy of the boldest dreams and accomplishments.
You say that you change with each collection. How did the work on this collection change you?
– This collection made me softer and deeper. I allowed myself to feel more and control less. Working on it became a kind of mirror – in the process I reconsidered my beliefs about femininity, fragility and strength. I think I've learned to be closer to myself – and therefore I've become more honest in my work. You also said ,,where the collection heals on the catwalk” How are the fashion collections healing?
– When you create something with a soul – in every stitch, in every line of the dress there is a part of you. While the collection is hidden, it seems to store all the emotions from which it was born – pain, inspiration, transformations. But as soon as she goes to the catwalk and meets the world, the exchange process begins. Viewers feel, read, live – and at this moment healing is born. Both for the collection and for me.The opening of the MFW will be dedicated to the outstanding Yugoslav and Montenegrin architect Svetlana Kana Radević. How connected are architecture and fashion?– Very much. Architecture and fashion are forms created for the body and space. Both disciplines require a balance between aesthetics and functionality. Svetlana Kana Radević inspired with her courage and organicity – she built not just buildings, she created spaces in which you can live and feel. That's what I try to do in fashion – to create forms in which a woman can be herself.
You had been collaborating with Tamara Rađenović for a long time. She has been choosing your designs for her concerts. How pleased are you with the way she has been wearing them and has Tamara been an inspiration for some of your fashion creations?
– Collaboration with Tamara is always a source of inspiration. For her concerts, I created exclusive dresses, where every detail is imbued with the beauty of her talent and the magic of classical music. Inspired by her repertoire, these dresses became a reflection of the elegance and sophistication that are so natural for her.
I am incredibly pleased with the way Tamara presents my creations: her grace, confidence and sincere energy give each outfit a special sound, turning the performances into real works of art. This synergy of fashion and music makes our collaboration truly unique and inspiring. Moreover, these dresses will be part of my new collection, which will give our collaboration additional meaning and symbolism.Do you have plans to present the collection at a fashion shows outside Montenegro after MFW?
– Yes, I have such a desire. I feel that this collection can find a response outside the country as well. Femininity, depth and emotionality are universal. I am considering options for cooperation and, possibly, participation in other European screenings. But as always, everything should be sincere and in due time.
