After the very successful first solo album ,,Everyday”, musician, composer and songwriter Milena Lainović’s new album/EP is out today. It is called ,,Higher Hopes”.
It contains five songs ,,Rain”, ,,No Black Sun No Black Rain”, ,,Summer of Heat & Spice”, ,,Higher Hopes” and ,,Sun” and Milena describes it in these words: From Rain to Sun, from darkness to light, from G minor to C major, an album full of Higher Hopes.
– I am the author of music and lyrics and, with regard to previous projects, I have played all the piano parts. Apart from vocals, album has two instrumentals – says Lainović for MNE magazin.
Lainović reveals that, as part of the promotion of her new EP, she plans to publish the video for the title song ,,Higher Hopes” on May 29th on You Tube channel.
– It was supposed to be filmed in Montenegro, as I have announced it in the previous interview I gave to MNE magazin. Because of the pandemic that has been happening throughout the world, I was forced to achieve all the things I have imagined in a different way, so I filmed all the takes for the video with a smartphone by myself, in my apartment and at the park in the district of London I live in and video editing was done by Igor Bakić – Lainović describes the work during the coronavirus pandemic.
She believes the listeners will like the songs from her new album and all who are interested can purchase it through many platforms that can be found on her website and on her social network accounts.
Album had been produced, mixed & mastered by Nikola Kovačević at his Brother Sun Sister Moon Productions in London.
The song ,,Rain” brings the music and piano parts from Milena Lainović, while Dominic Glover and Joe Rodwell play the trumpets. In the song ,,No Black Sun No Black Rain” Milena Lainović writes music and lyrics and plays the piano parts, while Nikola Kovačević is in charge of moog bass and Dave Browning is in charge of the drums. Adrien Pigeat plays the guitar. ,,Summer of Heat & Spice”, for which the video was out at the end of September last year, Milena Lainović signs music and lyrics, alongside piano parts, while this time also Nikola Kovačević has his hands on moog bass and Roli and Dave Browning plays the drums. Title song ,,Higher Hopes” is also written and composed by Milena Lainović, but this time she is joined in piano parts by Nikola Kovačević who is also behind the moog bass. Dave Browning is once again at the drums. The album closes the same way as it opens – with the instrumental called ,,Sun”, composed by Milena Lainović.
