As someone who is presenting herself to the world as designer what does it mean to you to be given the chance to present your work at Vancouver Fashion Week?

I am really excited to show my first HAUTE COUTURE Collection, name EVOLUTION during the VFW. This is definitely a great opportunity for me. Furthermore, throughout my work, I want to give the possibility people to travel in my creative world.
You said it beautifully, ,,Through my designs, I want to share my life story, my past, my creative thirst.” What was the story behind the collection you will be presenting at Vancouver Fashion Week?

Human beings evolve in function of its own story. Evolution Collection shows the Evolution of Nature, rhythmic by the season, cycle of nature. The natural world is a fascinating universe, representing the perfect harmony: nothing to add, only to be respected. My designs are the reflection of my Armenian origin and my life story. In order to succeed, you have to fight against the storm each day. The beginning of the Evolution Collection is the Deep Winter. The man shows an indestructible force, whereas the woman shows the fragility and the purity of Human Beings with the ice and the spring season. The end of the Evolution Collection is the Nature Force of the ocean. The man is still showing something indestructible but less indestructible than the beginning, but the woman is gaining the upper hand with the ocean waves.

I was looking at your Evolution collection. What are these interesting materials you are using in your designs?

Many… Sintering polyamide in 3D Prints (I have a collaboration with a company in France, helping me and giving me advices in order to find the perfect smoothness, color, and shape. Name of the company is POLYREPRO 3D), silk organza, silk mousseline, denim, neoprene, transparent PVC, many embroideries, silk gazar, 3D mesh…

Yerevan, Lyon, Paris, Switzerland. In what way did these places and the academies and a designer house you were being part of shape you as a designer and a person?

Evolution, Evolution… My creative thirst is the essential part of my life story. Each experience is contributing to develop my art. I have never really been recognized as a talented designer before winning the international fashion competition in Paris E-Fashion Awards. So I had to work really hard, to push myself to the limit. Now I have to keep going my Work and my Art. I participated at the Paris Fashion Week, Hôtel d’Evreux, Place Vendôme on the 4th of March. It was a first experience as a designer to show 8 looks out of 14 of my work in front of a public.

On the 16th of March, I was invited to show 11 looks of my work with exclusivity at the VIP ROOM, Rue de Rivoli. Now, this is the Vancouver Fashion Week, abroad. I like challenge. I will never stop my Art. For me, this is just the beginning…

,,I bring a different vision to fashion.” What kind of vision is this and is it hard or easy to come up with something different in the fashion world where we mostly see trends returning?

Art and Nature are the most beautiful marriage that you can celebrate. I love Nature. I am trying to unify Art and Nature in my designs. Nature has no limit, my inspirations have no limit… I cannot answer if it is hard or easy. Nature is unpredictable. I am trying to be unpredictable…

What kind of vision? I want to tell you, see you on Sunday, 26th, 8.45pm…
