Our guest is Dr. Qian Junhui, doctor of traditional Chinese medicine in the province of Sichuan, MA in acupuncture and massage, which she graduated from at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu. By applying therapeutic techniques of traditional Chinese medicine, such as acupuncture, massage and herbal therapy she has achieved excellent results in the treatment of various complicated diseases. Her specialty is Tui Na massage which is used to treat colds, coughs, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, malnutrition, night crying, enuresis, myopia, obesity, torticollis, attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity, children with cerebral palsy and other pediatric diseases.
Doctor says for our web news agency that this massage can improve the immune system, strengthen the weak constitution of the organism and compensate energy qi, blood, yin and yang, especially during the fall of immunity.
– Traditional Chinese medicine has unique methods in treatment of children's health problems, such as herbal therapies (oral and external use of Chinese herbs, application of patches on acupuncture points, etc.), as well as methods such as acupuncture and Tui Na massage. These methods of treatment can be used in the case of the following pediatric diseases: torticollis, digestive tract disease such as anorexia, vomiting, constipation, flatulence and diarrhea; upper respiratory tract infections, asthma, tonsillitis; liver and kidney disease, such as viral hepatitis, enuresis, myopia, and so forth – says Dr. Qian Junhui.
Explaining the effect of pediatric Tui Na massage, the doctor explains that this massage is based on fundamental principles of yin and yang, the five elements theory, zang and fu organs, meridians and qi energy.
– Tui Na massage serves up a variety of techniques to stimulate acupuncture points, to open the channels for smooth flow of qi energy and blood, with the aim of establishing physiological functions of organs, healing and preserving the health of the body. This pediatric massage is not only effective, but also safe (no medication, no injections), so can sometimes be used in the treatment of developmental disorders in young children. Developmental disorders in children are often caused by chronic deficiency and poor absorption of nutrients. In clinical practice, this problem often occurs in children aged up to three years, especially the large number of cases of newborn babies over a period of six months to one year. Tui Na massage is applied to healing the spleen and stomach, strengthen the qi energy in the kidney, re-establish the balance between yin and yang, the smooth flow of qi energy and blood, harmonious interaction between the internal organs and the restoration of their functions, as well as to compensate for the inherent vital qi energy – explains Qian Junhui.
According to her, this treatment is carried out once a day, five times a week, while the healing process usually takes 1-3 months.
