DR QIAN JUNHUI ON THE CONCEPT OF YIN AND YANG: In ,,Kina Medika” the imbalance in the body is cured effectively

Dr Qian Junhui

– Montenegrins are genuinely interested in learning more about traditional Chinese medicine. Often all this looks surreal to them and they are amazed by how much access to the patient and the treatment differ from the one they are used to and how close is a connection between medicine and philosophy. During examinations, they ask questions about the yin and yang and the famous black and white symbol of that philosophical concept – says dr. Qian Junhui of Specialist clinics ,,Kina Medika” in Podgorica.
The doctor explains in the conversation for our portal what yin and yang represent in Chinese philosophy, how the imbalance of yin and yang occur in the body, how this problem is solved and how important is the balance of yin and yang.

– In Chinese philosophy yin and yang represent unbreakable unity of opposites, the harmony between contrasts and contradictions on which all this rests, such as the unity of heaven and earth, male and female, coldness and heat, virtual and real, fire and water, and the like – says the doctor.

Traditional Chinese medicine is based on the premise that illness occurs if the balance between yin and yang is disturbed in the body. How such imbalance occurs?

– According to traditional Chinese medicine, the cause of all diseases can be grouped into four different categories – external and internal causes, causes of pathological nature and other causes. The external causes are classified as natural climate factors, such as strong winds, excessive moisture, coldness or heat, droughts, fires and the like. Internal causes include primarily problems in the nutrition, then exhaustion, as well as a whole range of psychological problems such as melancholy, depression, sadness and more. Causes of pathological nature are related to the secretion of mucus, blood stagnation, the emergence of rock and sand and similar ailments, while other causes consist of different forms of trauma, insect bites, burns, etc. All of these causes, regardless of their respective category, cause an imbalance of yin and yang in the body, which requires high-quality and effective treatment.

In what way the balance between yin and yang is established in the body?

– Depending on the cause of diseases and disorders of balance, a physician determines what therapy will regulate the condition of the body during the examination and the search for the cause of the disease. Duration of the very treatment, as well as the whole process of treatment, then selection of the appropriate method of treatment is relative and there are no strict rules. Sometimes it only takes a few treatments, with the correction of nutrition, and balance is achieved, while in other cases it can take months with the combination of several methods (acupuncture, massage, vacuum cups…)  so that the patient can recover successfully. It is necessary of course to endure it all, because the results do not come overnight.

How much patients in Montenegro are familiar with this issue and the importance it has in everyday life?

– I had noticed that many of our patients are sincerely interested in learning more about traditional Chinese medicine. Often all this looks surreal to them and they are amazed by how much access to the patient and the treatment differ from the one they are used to and how close is a connection between medicine and philosophy. During examinations, they often ask questions about the yin and yang and the famous black and white symbol of that philosophical concept and we are there to answer any question, instruct them about good literature and give them the warmest friendly advice on how to take care of their body and spirit and how to always strive for balance and harmony of yin and yang in the body and life in general.
